CRASH HARM REDUCTION
CRASH Harm Reduction was built in response to gaps that were impossible to ignore.
In a city where people continue to die from a preventable crisis, and where access to care is often limited by time, policy, or systems, we knew something different was needed.
We didn’t wait for permission. We started showing up; at night, on weekends, in the spaces where people were already navigating risk without support.
What grew from that is CRASH: a grassroots, community-driven response grounded in care, connection, and the belief that people deserve to be supported exactly as they are.
This work continues because the conditions that created it have not changed.
CRASH does our work on the unceded, ancestral territories of the Liǧʷiɫdax̌ʷ peoples specifically the Wei Wai Kum, We Wai Kai and Kwiakah Nations (colonially known as Campbell River)
We acknowledge with deep respect that these lands have never been surrendered, and we honour the ongoing presence, knowledge, and leadership of the First Peoples of this region. We recognize that the drug war and housing crisis are rooted in colonial policies that continue to disproportionately harm Indigenous communities. As a grassroots harm reduction collective, we are committed to challenging these systems of oppression, standing in solidarity with Indigenous peoples, and supporting community-led responses to health, safety, and justice.
